• Question: what kind of engines do you inspect, do inspect RAF engines

      No. I don’t inspect RAF engines. I inspect engines on civil aircraft. They are mainly large jet engines on planes like the Boeing 747 and 757. I have worked on RAF engines in the past, but that was to do ‘overhaul’ (like the annual service you have on your car). I worked on the Harrier, which is the one that does vertical take off, and the Nimrod, which does Search and Rescue. At work we called the ducts on the Harrier, which direct the air towards the ground so that it can take off vertically, the ‘elephants pants’ because that is what they looked like.
